YOUR ACTING COACH
I have been in front and behind the camera for over 17 years. I started out as many actors do, in theater. But very quickly moved into the film and television industry where I gained immediate success. My first role was as a Principle character in the CBS movie of the week Bluemoon. After that I continued to work on television series and films but quickly fell in love with the “behind the scenes” process of filmmaking. I then spent over six years learning how to produce, direct, shoot and edit for film, while still acting and learning my original trade. In 2006 I added one more skill as a Voice Artist and to date have performed in over forty television, radio and Internet commercials. I attribute my success in acting to the behind the scenes work I do as a Director, Producer, Editor and Writer. In these positions I have learned what actors were consistently doing right and doing wrong in every take.
In 2011 I moved to Vancouver, BC to continue my growth as an Actor and Filmmaker. In the three years I lived there, I joined one of the top Voice and Talent Agencies in the country, auditioned and worked with internationally recognized artists and grew as a person and artist.
Thanks to some amazing training from teachers such as Casting Director Janet Hirshenson (Harry Potter, A Few Good Men, Transformers) and Acting Coaches such as Jeb Beach (Fringe, Rise of the Planet of the Apes) and Tony Alcantar (Acting/Vocal Coach for the Fargo TV Series), I quickly learned the techniques to handle all the auditions I was getting as well as learn the secrets to what Casting Directors and Producers are looking for. In 2014 I came back to Halifax to spend a year with my family before my final move to my future home of California. Three years later, I ended up being a director for an animated series, expanding my knowledge, not only as a director, but as a voice actor while I gained an inside look into the industry from 'behind the scenes.' In later 2016 I moved to Toronto Ontario, where I'm continuing my work in animation, writing and directing, while taking on a select few acting clients and teaching workshops.
I have learned the key to success is really baby steps in the right direction every day. Or as Martial Artist / Filmmaker Bruce Lee says, "Long-term consistency trumps short term intensity."
